The Challenge

Grand openings are stressful and overwhelming, especially those under shortened time constraints. While partaking in a $100 million downtown revitalization project, Kent State was a mere month away from their grand opening and strained for time when they partnered with Trendex. Upon beginning the design process for their guestroom collateral with Trendex representative Bruce Vukelich, Kent State knew they were in the right hands. “[Trendex’s] total service capabilities made my job easier,” stated Lisa Zifer, Kent State Director of Operations.

The Solution

It was essential that the pieces reflected the property’s branded look and sleek interior design. To do so, Bruce began first with an in-depth needs analysis and consultation with the hotel’s agency. “They took our ideas and elements, and translated them into several designs that were right on target,” praises Zifer.

Though the schedule was very aggressive, "Bruce was right there every step of the way. He kept us on track and made sure I had materials in-hand for our grand opening. It was a great working relationship," concluded Zifer. Finally, after four weeks of preparation and creation, Kent State's grand opening was a success and the collaterals were a hit.

About the Product

In no time, Trendex provided prototypes and material samples for Kent State executives to select from. After the final designs were selected, the manufacturing process began. Among the projects, Trendex created the following:

•Modern metallic-mesh faux leather covers to emphasize wall hangings
•Intricately debossed & foil-stamped logos exuding Kent State’s sophistication
•A practical yet sleek wire-bound amenities book capable of easy replacement and updates
•Convenient interior pockets enabling additional messages and special promotions to be communicated
